Tony Hancock stars with Sid James and Kenneth Williams in the legendary BBC Radio comedy series. Created by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson in 1954, Hancock's Half Hour was the radio vehicle that made Tony Hancock a household name. Each week listeners would be admitted to the sometimes fantastical, sometimes mundane life of "the lad 'imself". Aided and abetted by Sid James, Andree Melly, Bill Kerr and Kenneth Williams, Hancock would enter into the spirit of each episode with characteristic dolefulness. This collection of 20 episodes represents the surviving archive from the fourth radio series, along with PDF booklets featuring episode guides, series notes, cast biographies and specially written introductions by Galton and Simpson. The episodes included are Back From Holiday (14/10/56), The Bolshoi Ballet (21/10/56), Sid James' Dad (28/10/56), The Income Tax Demand (04/11/56), The New Secretary (11/11/56), Michelangelo 'Ancock (18/11/56), Anna and the King of Siam (25/11/56), Cyrano De Hancock (02/12/56), The Stolen Petrol (09/12/56),The Expresso Bar (16/12/56), Hancock's Happy Christmas (23/12/56), The Diary (30/12/56), The 13th of the Series (06/01/57), Almost A Gentleman (13/01/57) This episode was previously released as part of the original 'Collectors Edition' set and can just be carried over for this reissue, The Old School Reunion (20/01/57), The Wild Man of the Woods (27/01/57), Agricultural 'Ancock (03/02/57), Hancock in the Police (10/02/57), The Emigrant (17/02/57) and The Last of the McHancocks (24/02/57).
