Mexican Banking Laws

Over the last decade, the impact of globalization on §financial markets, specifically banking, has led to §an increased need to understand financial systems §throughout the world. This book, therefore, makes §an in-depth analysis of the evolution of Mexican §banking history, covering the years 1876 to 2007. §It surveys Mexican economic and political history §during this period. This work follows changes in §economic policy, particularly in trade and §investment, to analyze the effects of a more §liberalized market on the banking sector. The book §identifies major regulatory changes in the banking §sector and the impact of NAFTA in encouraging such §changes. It also addresses the Mexican Peso Crisis, §the banking bailout, and the effects these events §had on banking supervision.
